Why is it difficult to retain what they have memorized from the Quran

Why is it so difficult for people to retain what they have memorized from the Quran? 🌿

Because Allah wants us to have a strong connection to the Quran and this will not happen unless we keep going back to it and reading from it!

Our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him said: “Review this Qur’an regularly. By the One in Whose Hand Muhammad’s soul is, it escapes (from the memory) faster than a camel does from its ropes (which tie it down).” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Shaykh Uthaimeen, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

“It is from the wisdom of Allah that the Quran (which you have memorized) is forgotten quickly; this is so that the one reciting it will keep reviewing and reciting it a lot. This will grant him rewards and he will increase in rewards. It is also a test from Allah to see who will be keen on (memorizing) the Book of Allah, and who will not.” (Majmu’ Fatawa wa Rasa’il Al-Uthaimeen)
