“We will never be deprived of good from a Lord who smiles.”

How can we give up hope when we have a Lord who smiles?

The Prophet ﷺ said:

‎ضَحِكَ رَبُّنا عزَّ وجلَّ من قُنُوطِ عبادِهِ ‎وقُرْبِ غِيَرِهِ

“Allah smiles seeing the despair of His servants when (in fact positive) change (for them) is near.”

Abu Razeen رضي الله عنه asked:

‎أَوَ يَضْحَكُ الرَّبُّ عزَّ وجلّ؟

“O Messenger of Allah, does the Lord — the Mighty and Exalted — smile?”

He ﷺ replied:

‎نَعَمْ

“Yes.”

Abu Razeen said:

‎لَنْ نَعْدَمَ من رَبٍّ يَضْحَكُ خيرًا

“We will never be deprived of good from a Lord who smiles.”
