Goal: I want to fast this Ramadan so that Allah will grant me taqwa:

“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it has been prescribed for people before you so that you will attain Taqwa.” [Quran 2:183]

Goal: “I want to be from those who have all their sins forgiven this Ramadan.”

“Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Goal: “I want to be from those who are redeemed from the Fire this Ramadan and entered into Paradise.”

“At every breaking of the fast, Allah has people whom He redeems (from the Fire).” [Sahih Al Targhib]

Goal: “I want to be from those who reap the reward of worshiping Allah on the night that is better than a thousand months.”

“The Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months.” [Quran 97:3]

Goal: “I want to be from amongst the followers of the Prophets and the martyrs.”

The Prophet ﷺ said that the ones who fast Ramadan (and do the other pillars of Islam) are: “amongst the true followers of the Prophets and the martyrs.” [Ibn Hibban, Sahih]

Goal: “I want to be from those who get the reward of praying the whole night.”

“Whoever prays qiyam with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him that he spent the whole night in prayer.” [Sahih]

Goal: ”I want the reward of a person’s fast by proving iftaar for others”.

“Whoever gives iftaar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.” [Sahih Al Tirmidhi]
