Preparing for Ramadan Tip #3

🌷Preparing for Ramadan Tip #3: Ten Quran Goals to focus on this Ramadan:🌷

Goal One: Attaining guidance (huda): “The one who studies the Quran seeking guidance, the path of truth will become clear for him. — Ibn Taymiyyah (r) (Al Aqeedah Al Wasityiyya)

Goal Two: Acting upon it: “O those who carry the Quran! Act upon it, for the one who is knowledgeable is the one who acts upon (his) knowledge and his actions correspond with his knowledge.” — Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) (Kanz Al-Umaal)

Goal Three: Increasing your eeman (belief in Allah): “A person should go through the Quran (with the goal to) discipline himself. His concern should be: When will I be from the ones who have taqwa? When will I be from the ones who have humility? When will I be from the ones who have patience? When will I have zuhd (to live simply) in this dunya? When will I forbid myself from (following my) whims and desires?” — Al-Ajuree (r) (Akhlaq Hamalatul Quran)

Goal Four: Attaining knowledge from it: “Those before you saw the Quran as messages from their Lord, they would ponder over it during the night and would look for it (i.e it’s guidance) during the day.” — Al-Hassan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba)

Goal Five: Getting the immense reward for reciting it: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be rewarded with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.” — The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Tirmidhi, and he said: “hadith hasan sahih”)

Goal Six: Filling your life with barakah (blessings): “The house in which the Book of Allah is recited in is full of good and the angels are present in it and the devils leave it. The house in which Allah’s Book is not recited in it constricts on the people living in it and holds little good. The devils are present in it and the angels have left it. — Abu Hurayrah (r) (Al-Zuhd)

Goal Seven: Seeking Healing from it: “The Qur’an is the complete healing for all mental, spiritual and physical diseases, all diseases of this world and the Hereafter. But not everyone is guided to use it for the purpose of healing. If the sick person uses the Qur’an for healing in the proper way, and applies it to his disease with sincerity, faith, complete acceptance and firm conviction, fulfilling all its conditions, then no disease can resist it.” — Ibnul Qayyim (r) (Zad al-Ma’ad, 4/352)

Goal Eight: Seeking its light: “But I am leaving among you two weighty things: (the first is) the Book of Allah in which there is guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it.” — The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Sahīh Muslim)

Goal Nine: Strengthening the connection between you and your Lord: “Allah’s Book is the rope of Allah that is stretched out from the heaven to the earth.” — The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Tirmidhi, verifed sahih by Al-Albani)

Goal Ten: Softening your heart: “Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allah’s Reminder (this Quran), and that which has been revealed of the truth?” (Quran 57:16)
