Patience is the Greatest Blessing

Some of the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for help and he gave them (from what he had). Then they asked him again and he gave them. When he ran out (of wealth to give them) he (peace be upon him) said:

“Whatever I have of good, I will never keep it from you.

(Remember that) whoever abstains from asking others, Allah will make him content, and whoever tries to be self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever strives to be patient, Allah will make him patient. No one is given a blessing better and greater than patience.” (Sahih Bukhari)

Allah has promised three enormous rewards for those who are patient: 1)His blessings, 2)His mercy, 3)His guidance:

“Give glad tidings to the patient, who, when afflicted with calamity, say:

إِنَّا لِلَّـهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

‘Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.’

Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.” (Quran 2:154-157)

With Hardship, there is Ease

“It is but a summer cloud which will soon disperse.”
