There is nothing more fulfilling for a person than to worship Allah.
“This is what you were promised (i.e. Paradise) — (it is) for those who often return (to Allah) in repentance, and those who preserve their covenant with Allah (by worshiping Him alone).
(They are those) who feared the Most Beneficent in the unseen (i.e. in the dunya before seeing Him), and brought forth (to Him) a heart full of repentance.”
(Quran 50:32-33)
When the believer worships Allah, he attains heaven on earth and the heaven in the Hereafter! There is nothing more fulfilling for a person than to worship Allah and build such a strong and beautiful connection with Allah that nothing can come between him and his Lord! Imam Ash-Shatabi, may Allah have mercy on him, writes:
“The purpose of worship is to submit and turn to Allah and humble oneself before Him. It is to submit to His rulings and to fill one’s heart with remembrance of Him — so that the servant is cognizant of Allah in (all) his actions, whether those performed by the heart or limbs.
It is (for the servant) to be conscious of Allah, and never be unaware of Him. It is (for the servant) to strive to gain His pleasure and do what will bring him close to Him (i.e. Allah) — based on his ability.”
